A 2 day Intensive
This 2 day intensive Vestibular rehabilitation course in London is designed to introduce or enhance Allied Health Practitioners knowledge and understanding of common peripheral and central vestibular pathologies. This course will help practitioners develop a comprehensive understanding of dizziness assessment, differential diagnosis and evidence based management strategies.
Course Highlights
Indepth Vestibular System Anatomy & Physiology –
Exploration of vestibular end organs, central vestibular system, vestibulo-cerebellum, vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR), visual-vestibular interactions, and vestibular laws (Ewald’s & Alexander’s).Comprehensive Vestibular Pathology Recognition –
Understanding signs, symptoms, and pathophysiology of clear to complex unilateral & bilateral vestibular hypofunction.Advanced Dizziness Assessment – Subjective assessment, oculomotor examination, VOR assessments, cervical assessment, positional testing, blood pressure assessment, motion sensitivity testing, and balance and gait measures.
Specialised BPPV Diagnosis & Management –
Differentiation of all BPPV variants (posterior, horizontal, anterior – canaliathiasis & cupulothiasis - geotropic & ageotropic), assessment methods, and targeted interventions.Tailored Vestibular Rehabilitation & Symptom Management –
Development of individualised treatment plans incorporating gaze stability, habituation, space and motion sensitivity exercises, stress management, sleep hygiene, and lifestyle modifications.Clinical Decision Making & Differential Diagnosis –
Advanced analysis of assessment findings to identify dizziness triggers (spontaneous, motion, or position-evoked), differentiate vestibular dysfunctions, and determine the need for specialist referral.
Structure
The course will be conducted over 2 days and will feature a blend of lectures and practical demonstrations.
